Regulations and Enrollment Method
1. Age Eligibility (as of 1st July each year ):
- Preliminary Classes: Contestants must not be over 6 years old;
- Graded Classes (except Performance Grade): Contestants must not be over 19 years old;
- Performance Grade Classes: Contestants must not be over 25 years old;
- Open Classes: Contestants must be 26 years old or above.
2. Contestants may enter multiple competition classes across different competition classes and grades, provided that different repertoire is presented for each class. A separate entry form must be submitted for each class entered.
3. Entry fees are non-refundable or non-transferable in the event of absence from the competition or under any other circumstances (including violation of the regulations, non-compliance with the rules, illness, or copyright infringement). If a competition class is cancelled, however, the entry fee will be refunded.
4. Contestants must complete all required fields in the entry form. Entries with missing or incomplete essential information will not be processed.
5. The Organizer reserves the right to schedule any competition class at any venue, including but not limited to performance venues under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
6. Admission forms and relevant information will be issued via email to Contestants or their representing teachers/guardians.
7. Unauthorized photocopying of copyrighted scores in violation of copyright regulations constitutes an offence. Any Contestant using photocopies may be disqualified.
8. Contestants must perform according to the scores (except fingerings or bowings) without any amendment or improvisation. The adjudicator(s) reserve the right to adjust the marks based on the overall performance in cases of non-compliance.
9. Contestants must use the specified editions of the selected examination syllabus pieces. If an alternative edition is used, a copy of the relevant score must be submitted prior to the competition.
10. A copy of the music score must be submitted together with the application form. Failure to do so may result in a deduction of marks.
11. If a Contestant fails to provide all required information to the Organizer by the specified deadline, the Contestant shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the competition. The entry fee will neither be refunded nor transferred.
12. Adjudicator(s) reserve the right to terminate a performance if the contestant fails to meet an acceptable general standard. The decision of the adjudicator(s) shall be final.
13. Contestants are not permitted to present rearranged versions of the prescribed pieces.
14. If a Contestant performs a piece not specified in the entry form, the adjudicator(s) may provide comments; however, no marks will be awarded.
15. After submission of the entry, the name of the Contestant shall not be changed, and no transfer or substitution of Contestants will be permitted.
16. After enrollment, the names of Contestants cannot be changed nor the identities of Contestants be exchanged with each other.
17. After submission of the entry, any request to amend the competition class or submitted information shall be subject to an administrative fee of HK$300 per amendment, payable to the Organization. No amendments will be permitted during the competition.
18. Contestants who fail to attend the competition in accordance with the regulations shall be deemed to have withdrawn.
19. The entry form may be completed and submitted by the Contestant, guardian or music teacher, and must be duly signed for confirmation. Upon receipt of the entry form by the Organization, all information provided shall be deemed accurate and final.
20. The Organization reserves all rights to cancel or reschedule any competition class due to insufficient enrollment or the unavailability of competition venues. The decision of the Organization shall be final.

Arrangement of the Competition:
1. Memorization is not required for all competition classes. Contestants are required to wear appropriate performance attire. (For details, please refer to the "Guidelines for Contestants from the Adjudicators".)
2. All required documents and music scores must be presented at registration (Please refer to Item 4 in “Contestant’s Information”). Incomplete submissions will not be accepted. All fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.
3. All Contestants are required to provide their own instruments, except for the piano.
4. All repeats (repeat signs) shall be omitted in all competition pieces. Da Capo (D.C.) and Dal Segno (D.S.) may be observed at the Contestant’s discretion, subject to performance time limits and the integrity of the work.
5. Contestants must provide their own accompanist. The use of recorded or audio accompaniment is not permitted.
6. Except for the Open Classes, piano shall be the only permitted form of accompaniment for all competition pieces.
7. Unauthorized photography and video recording are strictly prohibited during the competition. The copyright of all official photos and video recordings shall belong to the Organization.
8. The Organization reserves the right to amend the regulations, revise the prizes, or replace any adjudicator, and shall have the final decision in all such matters. No prior notice will be given for any such changes.

Use of Personal Information
The information provided in the enrollment form will be used for the following purposes:
- organization and administration of the competition; competition arrangement;
- official verification of Contestant’s identity and result;
- educational research and analysis;
- d. communication of news and events related to St. Cecilia Examinations and Competitions in Hong Kong.
